Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins is also referred to as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the United States as well as Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She's the daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. She covered stories about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she would fill in at times as a news and sports anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she is more responsible. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted as a sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. They moved at some point towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. There is a sister. In 1992, the family relocated to Miami after relocating out of Mexico to the US. In 1992, her parents divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in the year 2006 from kidney cancer. The summer of the year 2006, Antonietta took a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta, a high-school senior with an idea of what she would like her life to be, visited Mount Union University to see what she could get out of the college. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she sought. Her studies were completed and she was accepted to the University for a master's degree in media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of her class, formed a lasting relationship with the student. The professor encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his enthusiasm for journalism.
